It’s very difficult not to be enthusiastic about this Sony FE 50mm f1.2 GM!!!! I feel a bit uncomfortable writing this review because I don’t want to seem to you like a Sony “fanboy”. It has started to give me emotions since the very first shot!!! Then I asked in my favorite Sony shop if they had the new Sony FE 50mm f1.2 GM and, when they said “YES”………. Honestly I have to say I had in my mind some manual lenses. That Zeiss is a gem and I wanted something on that level of excellence but a bit longer. My idea was to find something to pair with the Zeiss ZM Distagon 35mm f1.4 But sometimes it's not.It was already a long time I was thinking about to get a new lens. They want you to look at their fabulous photos and think how easy it is with their equipment. Now this is true again of all ambassadors of all companies. Mark's photos are a sampling of what the equipment can do, if it's paired with someone with his skill and experience level.

The fact that they can get those type of photos from the equipment doesn't mean you necessarily will. Also something to consider when viewing photos from any brand ambassador: these people are very skilled and experienced photographers. Now that is the same for any brand ambassador. I still think he has a lot to offer, but my first point stands: he is in fact paid by Sony to make the equipment look the best he can, and thus is not objective in any sense. But it's not a matter of comparing him to comments on this forum, but comparing him to other reviewers not paid by Sony. Thoughts R I agree that Mark Galer's reviews/videos are very instructive and do have a lot of good material.
